Review:
This game is a combination of Grimm's Hatchery, Alice Greenfingers and Magic Seeds, but I believe it surpassed them all. I expected another game where I clicked around the screen growing, collecting, selling and defending things (plants, animals, whatever). Which happened, but, for once, my clicks actually meant something more - experience/gained knowledge/upgrades. My character was learning! Growing! Evolving! I had to buy the usual farm upgrades with gold/money/however cash was represented in this world, but my character upgraded too. Not just her clothes or implements but her! This is what so many of the other games miss. The RPG aspect of what the gamer does actually making the inworld character better. In most of the other casual games, even the ones I love, the character at the beginning is the character at the end. The changes within the game world go around her/him but the main character rarely advances and, even when advances do occur, the upgrades are merely bought and often temporary (per level/city/moonlanding site). I like what I do affecting the game world in a deeper way. I like my time spent in the game world to mean more than simple, repetitive action clicks. My character grows as I do. I wish more studios incorporated this RPG foundation into their games.
